Englewood, Colo. (PRWEB) August 20, 2007 -- Baxa Corporation has published the 2008 dates for training at its STAR (Skills Training, Academics and Resources) Center. The STAR Center, a premier facility designed for cleanroom and pharmacy practice demonstration, is located at the company's world headquarters south of Denver, Colorado. Baxa Corporation built the STAR Center to provide professional education on pharmacy practice, cleanroom principles and compliance to regulatory requirements.
Class dates for the Compliance Tools and Aseptic Certification for USP 797 Course are being announced now because classes through the remainder of 2007 have been sold out since June. Each class covers 2-1/2 days of hands-on and classroom training, for 21 hours of CE credit.
The first class will be held on January 22-24, with subsequent program dates March 18-20, April 22-24 and June 17-19. Classes are tentatively planned for July, August, October and November; however dates are subject to change. The ACPE-certified training is filled on a first come, first served basis. Attendance in the STAR Center classes is limited to 20 participants to ensure resource availability, student-teacher ratios and hands-on experiences in the cleanrooms.
Current programming targets pharmacy and IV managers, providing value for any personnel who compound sterile products or are implementing cleanroom principles and practices that comply with USP 797 and industry best practice. Course topics include cleanroom physical design and layout, engineering controls and airflow science, media fill testing and principles associated with work flow, staff training, cleaning, monitoring, validation and documentation.
Baxa Corporation sponsors the STAR Center to further best practices in hospital pharmacy. The STAR Center brings together professional and industry partners to provide participants with a range of experience in equipment, technology and design.
The STAR Center was launched in fall of 2006 and regular classes have sold out each time they've been offered. Tuition charged for STAR Center training covers the cost of providing participant meals and training materials, ACPE accreditation and professional speakers' fees. Future class offerings are in development and will be announced later this year. Contact Baxa Corporation at www.baxa.com/starcenter for more information.

Things You Should Know About Children Taking Paxil
Today, it is not uncommon to see children suffering from depression or other mental disorders. Many doctors today will prescribe medication, such as Paxil to help improve the child?s mental health disorder or condition. However, what many people do not know is that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has never approved treatment or use of Paxil for children. The FDA does not regulate medical procedures and a doctor can prescribe a medication for children based solely on their professional knowledge and judgment. Childhood depression differs greatly from adult depression, therefore children taking Paxil, may experience different side effects, sometimes at a higher degree than adults, as a result of taking Paxil. There are the things that...

Lower Inhibitions, Lower Performance: Impotence And Alcoholism
Alcohol is known to effectively lower a person's inhibitions. It is because of this effect that alcohol is also believed to bring out one's sexuality, increase one's sex drive, and even improve one's sexual performance. The truth of this, however, cannot be actually verified. Although, one thing is for sure about alcohol and its effects on a man's system. Too much alcohol intake or excessive alcoholism can eventually result to impotence or erectile dysfunction. Simply put, this is a man's inability to achieve an erection when sexually stimulated. It is not, therefore, always true that alcohol increases or improves one's sexual performance. When alcohol intake is already too much, it can have the opposite effect on a man's functioning. Erectile Dysfunction And Alternative Remedies
Erectile dysfunction (ED), also called impotence, is characterized by a man's failure to have an erection or keep an erection long enough to finish the sexual intercourse. Severity of ED varies among men, with some having total inability to achieve an erection while others have irregular ability to attain an erection. Other men with mild ED can still sustain brief erections. Impotence is one of the reasons why men fail to perform well in bed. This condition is considered as a horrible experience among men, it can be very stressful and may damage the male self-esteem. Low self-esteem is one the reasons why men are not able to show their full potential and complicate relationships. Sexual failure among men is not something that is openly dis...
The FDA Only Approves Toxic Medicines!!
Do you take prescriptions?? Did you know that all medicines, both over the counter drugs and prescriptions are FDA approved?? Do you know what it means for a drug to meet FDA approval?? For a drug to be FDA approved, they have to prove that it has an LD-50, or lethal dose half life. Well, what does that mean?? It means that half of the test subjects, such as rats; have to be able to be killed by a large enough dose at any one time. They figure out how large of a dose kills a rat and then they figure the amount that is safe for humans to take. SAFE?? Are you kidding me!! If medicines were safe, then they wouldn't be toxic.
