INDIANAPOLIS (PRWEB) November 3, 2006 -- For the nearly 107 million Americans with high cholesterol, monitoring levels just got easier. Starting today, the CardioChek® handheld meter is available over the counter at all CVS/pharmacy stores (nearly 6,200 locations) throughout the United States. CardioChek measures cholesterol and related whole blood indicators of cardiovascular risk in just two minutes.
The CardioChek meter retails at $99.99. A package of three PTS Panels™ Total Cholesterol Test Strips or HDL Test Strips sells for $12.99, and must be purchased separately. The products are FDA cleared.
About the CardioChek system
The CardioChek system is a hand-held analyzer used with PTS Panels Test Strips. The system monitors key health indicators related to heart disease, diabetes and other chronic conditions. Home users simply insert a color-coded test strip and accompanying MEMo chip™ into the meter; add a small amount of blood (about 15 micro liters); and test results are displayed within two minutes.
The CardioChek analyzer stores up to thirty results in memory for future comparison. It can be programmed in one of six languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese.
The system is manufactured by Polymer Technology Systems Inc., an Indianapolis-based company that delivers point-of-care diagnostics to the global health care market. "As the price of health insurance and health care continues to escalate, consumers are looking for ways to monitor their health at home. The CardioChek monitor is an easy and simple way to monitor your cholesterol levels at home," says Bob Huffstodt, PTS CEO. "Having tested millions of people worldwide in doctors' offices and at health fairs with our professional system, we are very excited to now make our consumer version available to consumers at CVS/pharmacy."

Oral Testosterone To Overcome Erectile Dysfunction?
Oral testosterone can reduce ED in some men with low levels of natural testosterone, but it is often ineffective and may cause liver damage.
The Basics of Kamagra
There are many drugs on the market to treat erectile dysfunction and Kamagra is one of those. This phosphodiesterase inhibitor works to help a man achieve an erection and keep it. Men who are impotent or who have chronic erectile problems will find that there problems are reversed, at least in most cases, with Kamagra. Since this is an erectile dysfunction drug only men should use it. In fact, this drug is not recommended for women or children under any circumstances. Kamagra is an oral drug that may be taken as little as half an hour before lovemaking begins or as long as four hours before. This gives men some leeway when it comes to spontaneity and foreplay. Not to mention it eliminates the embarrassment associated with non performance an...

Acne Medicines - Do They Work?
If you're like most people suffering from acne, you've probably tried more than one over the counter solution. And you've probably found that most of them don't work, either. Sometimes it can seem like the crop of pimples on your face just never goes away. It's sad but true; most of the acne medications that are readily available don't actually work. Some might even aggravate your skin, which can make the acne worse - which is definitely not why you bought the medication! Maybe it's time to try doing things a little differently.

Is Homeopathic Medicines For Yeast Infections A Solution?
While many homeopathic remedies for yeast infection may seem like an excellent option you want to carefully consider them before you actually put them to use. Yeast infection symptoms can be similar to other conditions that are much more serious than a Candida yeast infection. This is why you should at least have a homeopathic doctor confirm you condition so you know what problem you are actually treating. Homeopathic medicine for yeast infection may be a great way to fight the symptoms of a yeast infection for those who are chronic sufferers and know the symptoms by heart but want to fight it with a natural product rather than over the counter medications.

Leading Manufacturer Warns Against Using Potentially Toxic Plastic Bottles For Packaging OTC Medicines
When SiCap Industries launched Sinus Buster, the world's first natural capsaicin nasal spray in 2003, the product line featured plastic bottles commonly used in most popular over the counter nasal sprays. In 2005, the company switched to glass bottles due to concerns over the potential dangers of toxic leaching from plastic containers. The company's founder believes it was a necessary move to ensure consumer safety and the integrity of the natural medicine industry.
As recent studies show toxic leaching to be a real problem, SiCap is announcing an immediate switch to glass bottles for their oral products; Pepper Boost and Pepper Slim.

Cheap Viagra A Few Thoughts
Development of pharmacological therapies for erectile dysfunction and the opening up of generic market for Viagra has led men go on the lookout for cheaper but safe alternatives. At this stage, lets not forget that the underlying reason of erectile dysfunction is by and large a chronic medical infirmity or side effect of certain drug molecules. Anyone can take Viagra if he is facing problems with erectile functioning provided he has consulted his physician beforehand. It literally helps increase and sustains stronger erections. Cheap Viagra is definitely qualitative and safe even if you are buying it online. However, with cheap Viagra, you are invariably buying the generic drug which is manufactured either within your country or in an abr...
